How many miles of hiking trails are in Acadia?
158, plus another 45 miles of carriage roads. Beehive Trail, overlooking Sand Beach, is far and away the most popular trail in the Park. It is one of the “cliff ladder trails” in the Park, which require hikers to climb up a ladder for part of the trail. The others are Door Mountain, Beech Cliff, Precipice, and Jordan Cliffs.

What is the largest National Park?
Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve. The Park is over 13 million acres, which makes it larger than 9 US states and just over 1/3 the size of Maine. It is part of one of the largest protected areas on the planet. Despite its size, it averages only around 80,000 visitors per year. Which means, if each visitor was there at the same time and equally spread out, each person would have over 160 acres to themselves! That’s like having two and a half Empire State Buildings all to yourself!
